3M Bulletproof Window Film...lets look in detail why this is a faulty statement
(and does not exist, but why film is still needed)

Glass shatters when it's shot at, even when it has safety and security film installed. In most cases, the round will still penetrate and it would never be safe to trust the glass and window to be ballistic protection. As of now, there is no such thing as ballistic window film. Then why are millions of square feet of Safety & Security Film installed every year in the US alone? The answer is that Safety Window Film is used to hold the glass in place, even when it is shattered and pierced, in order to delay entry. With no film, windows and glass doors become an opening when the glass is shattered since it loses its structural integrity. That is where security films like 3M™ Safety & Security Ultra S800 come in. While these films cannot stop the glass from shattering, or stop a bullet, they can hold the broken or shattered glass in place to prevent it from immediately becoming an opening. The film helps to delay break and entry in intruder situations. Security film is a passive security measure, protection that works 24/7, never tires, and maintains the same shielding year after year. In the perimeter of most buildings, the weak point is glass, but it doesn't have to be.

But how does it work? 3M™ Safety & Security Window Film is a multi-layer polyester film that on one face has a strong 3M™ adhesive and on the other face a protective coating. When applied to a window along with the Impact Profile, it creates an additional layer of protection that can help to hold the glass in place if it breaks or shatters. When adhered to the glass, the film strongly holds it together, whether the glass is one piece or one thousand pieces. This prevents a window from becoming an opening in a break-and-entry emergency. This can also reduce the risk of injury from flying shards of glass.

It is applied to the interior or exterior of windows in buildings to enhance their security and safety. It is designed to be strong and durable, It is typically minimally disruptive to install and requires minimal maintenance. In schools for example, 3M™ Safety & Security Window Film can offer a range of benefits to improve the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff.

One of the main benefits of 3M™ Safety & Security Window Film is its ability to passively enhance the security of windows and glass doors. With a professional installation, it is hard to even tell it is there. This security measure does not need to be turned on and it is virtually invisible. It can also provide protection against extreme weather conditions, such as hurricanes and tornadoes, which can cause windows to break or shatter.

If installed as a tinted option, another benefit is the added privacy it provides. This privacy can be provided without sacrificing natural light, particularly in classrooms or other areas where privacy may be a concern. This can create a more comfortable and secure learning environment for students.

Another benefit of 3M™ Safety & Security Window Film is that it can improve the energy efficiency of a building. By reducing the amount of heat and glare that enters the building through windows, 3M™ Window Film can help to keep the interior temperature more stable and comfortable. This can result in lower energy costs for heating and cooling, as well as improved indoor air quality.
